Mmm, cookies. Give somebody’s cookies a home, or better yet, make some cookies for somebody, put them in this cookie jar, then give it to them as a Christmas gift!
Apparently these Fitz and Floyd cookie jars are a pretty hot item. The Fitz and Floyd Signature Collection is heavily sought after, and now is back in production. This, obviously, is the Santa Plane Cookie Jar. It’s pretty good sized. At 17 inches long, I suppose a fair amount of cookies will fit into the jar. It’s getting near Christmas time now, and I think the thing that we all need most this time of the year is cookies. That’s right, good old sugar.
Man, now I want some cookies.
Have Santa fly some cookies to somebody here.
It’s time for some Christmas stuff by gum! So I’ll kick things off here with a neat little Christmas train set. It comes with elves and everything. I can’t write up something any better than the description on the product site, so check it out:
An homage to the classic Lionel train sets, the fully animated Lionel Holiday Tradition Express is ready for a festive adventure this holiday season. Leading the way, the locomotive features bright Christmas lights, true-to-life train chuffing and steam whistles, and two of your favorite holiday tunes. Just behind the tender, the animated bell car is powered by two elves who crank the handles, swinging the bells into action. The animated work caboose carries Santa’s bag, and Santa stands waving at the rear of the train. With five separate animations, the Lionel Holiday Tradition Express is the train set your family will proudly display for years to come.
Sounds pretty swell huh? Yeah, I thought so too.

Avocado and vanilla mint. Don’t ask me! All I can say is that it sounds totally super awesome.
The product site actually has no description, which is great, but this is such an interesting sounding set of candles that I figured I’d give it a go anyway. My guess is that the avocado part isn’t so much for the smell, but more for the construction of the candle. I know it’s one of those things (is it a fruit or vegetable?) that is really good for you in a number of ways. The vanilla mint part is obviously what the scent is. I love just about anything that’s vanilla mint. I had one of those huge 3-wick candles long ago that was vanilla mint, it smelled really good. Anyway, go check it out yo.
Put some vanilla mint in that avocado here.
Here’s another creation from the island of Murano. The process used to make these glass birds sounds pretty cool, I’d like to witness it in action.
They dip a long metal rod in molten glass, twisting it in just the right way to form the dove. Then while it’s still piping hot, 24 karat gold is applied to give the bird those streaks on the side. Pretty wild stuff. If I tried that out, it would probably end up as a glass earthworm or something. The doves are available in the two colors shown there; pink and blue. Oh wait, the pink is called rose, that sounds much nicer!
Scoop out a glass bird here.
Here’s another one of those things that just looks cool. It’s a big glass prism. The description on the site is not only informative, but educational as well. I’ve learned now that before electricity, ships relied on kerosene lamps and candles for light. Of course, fire housed beneath the deck isn’t always a good idea. Enter the prism. These puppies threw light all around the underside of the deck, taking advantage of the sun’s rays.
So benefit #1 is right there, it’s a great conversation piece. Benefit #2 is the fact that it’s totally awesome! Just look at it. It’s 4″ wide and 5″ tall. It makes me think of Emerald City in Oz. Yeah? I think so.

Now this is a gift basket! Just look at it, it’s glorious…and delightful. It makes for the perfect corporate gift basket around the holidays. The food that it comes packed with is just right. Ready for the list? Here tis:
- 10 oz. Aged Cheddar
- 5 oz. of Edam
- Two flavors of All-Beef Sausage; Original and Salami
- 4 oz. of Spinzel Pretzels
- Two Flavors of Mustard; Sweet ‘N Hot and Cajun
- Pepper Cheese Spread
- Wheat Wafers
Now is that a list or what? All the sausage, cheese, and crackers you could want. It’s really quite affordable as well at around 35 bucks. I guess it’s not an abundance of food, seeing how the basket is 10½” wide, but that way each department of a company can get one, alright!
Once you click over to the site, make sure to snoop around a bit. They’ve got all kinds of gift baskets over there, lots of great stuff.
Cheese it up here.
Just looking at these happy little mint fudge frogs with their pleasant smiles makes me feel happy. They seem cozy there in the tin, but at the same time, very willing to help fix that craving for something sweet that we are all bound to get this time of the year.
It looks as though there are about 35 of these tasty little frogs in the tin. They are actually truffles, each filled with “glorious mint fudge.” It must be pretty good mint fudge to be referred to as glorious. I just can’t get over this picture. It’s so soothing. I think I’d have to order 2 of the tins so I could just look at one of them without disturbing the little fellows.

If you haven’t seen the Planet Earth series, you’re really missing out on something incredible. This 11 episode set took over 5 years to make. It is all filmed in high definition (it is available in standard DVD, Blu-Ray, and HD DVD) and captures some of the most amazing events, objects, and life on out planet.
Sigourney Weaver is the commentator throughout the entire series. The episodes are as follows: Pole to Pole, Mountains, Deep Ocean, Deserts, Ice Worlds, Shallow Sea, Great Plains, Jungles, Fresh Water, Seasonal Forests, and Caves. The DVD set also included behind-the-scenes featurettes for each episode as well as a three part documentary called The Future.
I’ve seen some, not all yet, of these on the Discovery Channel. I don’t have that channel in HD at the moment, and I can’t wait to get my hands on this set in high definition. It’s amazing to see some of the things that are out there in our world. This would make an awesome gift idea for anybody. Once you start watching them, you won’t want to stop.

At first glance, this necklace may look like something that a Rainbow Brite fan would be wearing (and probably is, really), but there is much more to this glass and gold necklace.
Murano is the home island of this necklace. Apparently Murano has been home to Venetian glass making artisans for ages and ages. We’re talking since the 13th century here. Who knew? Each bead is hand made and will vary in shape and size. Every other bead just so happens to have 24-karat gold leaf on the inside, giving them a golden sparkle and texture.

This thing looks pretty cool. I like mind benders and puzzles. I think this would go nicely with the Rubik’s Cube. I am a little thrown off by it however.
It’s a 3D puzzle (I’m not sure why it’s called a 4D game, maybe because it will take so much of your time away) where you try to get a metal ring out of the cubic labyrinth. I’ve searched for videos to see it in action, but to no avail. Apparently there’s a little metal ring, it looks like it may be around an inch in diameter, and you slide it around the edges of the cube in search of a way to get it detached from the cube. Word is that once you start, it’s very hard to put the thing down.
So maybe if you know someone who thinks they’re a master of puzzle solving, you can throw this new one at them.
