Basket of Delights by Wisconsin Cheeseman

Basket of DelightsNow this is a gift basket! Just look at it, it’s glorious…and delightful. It makes for the perfect corporate gift basket around the holidays. The food that it comes packed with is just right. Ready for the list? Here tis:

  • 10 oz. Aged Cheddar
  • 5 oz. of Edam
  • Two flavors of All-Beef Sausage; Original and Salami
  • 4 oz. of Spinzel Pretzels
  • Two Flavors of Mustard; Sweet ‘N Hot and Cajun
  • Pepper Cheese Spread
  • Wheat Wafers

Now is that a list or what? All the sausage, cheese, and crackers you could want. It’s really quite affordable as well at around 35 bucks. I guess it’s not an abundance of food, seeing how the basket is 10½” wide, but that way each department of a company can get one, alright!

Once you click over to the site, make sure to snoop around a bit. They’ve got all kinds of gift baskets over there, lots of great stuff.

Frog Fudgies

Frog FudgiesJust looking at these happy little mint fudge frogs with their pleasant smiles makes me feel happy. They seem cozy there in the tin, but at the same time, very willing to help fix that craving for something sweet that we are all bound to get this time of the year.

It looks as though there are about 35 of these tasty little frogs in the tin. They are actually truffles, each filled with “glorious mint fudge.” It must be pretty good mint fudge to be referred to as glorious. I just can’t get over this picture. It’s so soothing. I think I’d have to order 2 of the tins so I could just look at one of them without disturbing the little fellows.

Planet Earth DVD Set

Planet Earth DVD SetIf you haven’t seen the Planet Earth series, you’re really missing out on something incredible. This 11 episode set took over 5 years to make. It is all filmed in high definition (it is available in standard DVD, Blu-Ray, and HD DVD) and captures some of the most amazing events, objects, and life on out planet.

Sigourney Weaver is the commentator throughout the entire series. The episodes are as follows: Pole to Pole, Mountains, Deep Ocean, Deserts, Ice Worlds, Shallow Sea, Great Plains, Jungles, Fresh Water, Seasonal Forests, and Caves. The DVD set also included behind-the-scenes featurettes for each episode as well as a three part documentary called The Future.

I’ve seen some, not all yet, of these on the Discovery Channel. I don’t have that channel in HD at the moment, and I can’t wait to get my hands on this set in high definition. It’s amazing to see some of the things that are out there in our world. This would make an awesome gift idea for anybody. Once you start watching them, you won’t want to stop.

Worry Box Angels

Worry Box AngelsThese elegant hand blown glass angels come in sets of three in their own worry box. A worry box is something that you use to make a wish come true. You write down a wish on a piece of paper, put it in the box, and it gets delivered to the heavens, according to the site linked to here.

The glass angels are graced with 22-carat gold on their wings, halos, and possessions. Five colors are available. Each box is a certain color with three matching angels inside. The boxes have a nice little poem about the angels written on the inside of the lid. Quite the fancy little elegant gift idea I must say.

Segatoys HomeStar Pure Home Planetarium

Segatoys HomeStar Pure Home PlanetariumThis is one I really want to see in action. It brings the night time sky into your house. I was recently able to get away from the city lights and look up at the night stars at Lake Powell. I tell you what, it was awesome.

The Home Planetarium projects 10,000 stars onto the ceiling. This model is powered by 4 AA batteries, so you can put it anywhere in the room you like, no need to worry about a cord. Different plates are available to include the moon or change the stars to the southern skies.

Some of the best campfire conversations I’ve had have happened when looking up at the stars. If you can’t get out to the wilderness, bring it to your home!

Magz Construction Sets

Now these things really caught my eye. Is there anybody out there who doesn’t love a good magnetic toy? For some reason, magnets are one of the most intriguing things for me to fidget with.

Now the write up on the site is somewhat confusing, but as I read through it, I kept wanting more and more! It starts out with a 56 piece set that has 36 rods and 20 balls. You may think that would be plenty, but no. Next is the 130 piece set for only a few bucks more, which is a killer deal. But wait, it gets better.

Next they throw the faceted Cuballs at you. What are those you ask? They are balls with six flat sides, so kind of a cube-ball combo, hence the clever name. Those allow you to build the cube shaped structures that are shown in the picture. So obviously, you have to get those. But hold on. Next comes the introduction of the Super Magz. They are bigger, stronger, and have even stronger magnetism, which they say allows you to build even better structures. Well that’s a no brainer, bigger and stronger is always better, right? Next is the sweet spot as I see it. The 247 piece set. It has 112 rods, 75 balls, and 60 cuballs. I think that’s the ticket right there. But wait, that doesn’t come with those cool X-shaped pieces. Blast it all!

So next is the Magz-X collection that comes with those pieces, but only 25 of them with 28 rods and 53 balls. So finally, there is the 280 piece set. It has the 70 X pieces, 70 bars, and 140 balls. I’m not sure if those come with the cuballs though. If you’re confused like me, they also provide an option to get all the packages in one order. With the Magz Super Special, you get the 247 piece set and the 280 piece set plus a wooden storage box! Well that one seems to be the easiest option, but it’s also the most expensive.

Don’t worry about all this. The website has a phone number and a contact email address to use to find out just what you’re ordering. All I do know is that whoever gets these for a gift will have a lot of magnetic fun times.

Boing Ball at MoMA Store

Boing Ball at MoMA StoreYet another thing to fidget with and throw at your neighbor. The Boing Ball changes color each time it gets squeezed. I don’t imagine they bounce too well, but they sure do look pretty cool.

The ball has all kinds of uses. You can throw it at your friends’ faces, use it to play red light/green light, scatter them around your room at night to set the mood, and the list goes on. There are a few settings for the changing of the ball’s color. You can have it steadily changing, change each time you squeeze the life out of it, or have it remain a constant color.

Imagine getting a gift with a few of these and a few Mushroom Lamps! That would be the brightest, most colorful box of swell gifts one could possibly receive. Now the picture up here shows some different sizes. I’m not sure what’s going on there, because there’s one size available, and that’s a ball with a three inch diameter. We can slowly light up the world with colorful gifts one by one!

Webkinz

WebkinzI first heard about these little plush stuffed animals a few months ago from a girl who is in her mid 20s. She got one recently and can’t get enough of it. Now, they are catered to children, but apparently any age can have fun with them.

Remember those Tamagotchi things around 10 years back? Yeah, I had one of those. It was pretty awesome. It was a bird of some sort, a chicken or a duck I think. Anyway, these are kind of like that, only different. I think this is how it works. You buy the plush pet, which is a normal stuffed animal. Each animal comes with its own ID code of some sort. With that code, you can become a member of the Webkinz World. That is where the pet comes alive.

There’s a short little tour on the site to catch you up to speed about the Webkinz World. It looks like a fully interactive community focused on these little furry things. So you can treat the stuffed pet like any other one you may have, but then go on the computer and see it walking around in a virtual world. Pretty wild stuff. It’s not all fun and games either. There looks to be some educational activities in there too.
