I’m a bit of a casual gamer, and I appreciate how a little fake life can help take stress away from real life now and then. Word on the streets, and from some friends of mine, is that the Sony Playstation 4 is pretty awesome. That means it would make a perfect gift!
Now, I know you can buy them all over the place, but if you’re reading this, you have the link right in front of you to buy one with two controllers! That’s right, two people can play at the same time! It’s kind of ridiculous that they don’t just sell two controllers at the standard price, don’t you think? I mostly play solo video games, but even then, I have one charging while I’m discharging the other one, it’s a lovely system.

- Plutonium-244 (Blue)
- Uranium-238 (Green)
- Thorium-232 (Orange)
They look pretty cool. I haven’t seen them in person, but I really want some! Right now, for coasters, I just use some old hard drives I took from some of my old computers, which look cool, but not this cool! I just said cool a lot. Also cool, the batteries are included!
This video alone made me want to buy them. It’s so great. If you love the song as much as I do, you’ll want to click this here link:

I’m one of millions of people who really enjoyed the show. This collection comes with a ridiculous amount of goodies. Of course you get all five seasons on Blu Ray discs. The never-before-seen special features tally up to over 55 hours! Also included is a two hour documentary!
The packaging, as you can see, is quite unique. It’s a barrel of goods. That ties into the show, of course, but if you haven’t seen it, I won’t spoil it. Now, if all of that footage isn’t enough to seal the deal for you, there are even more toys included. One of those things is a Los Pollos Hermanos apron. That cracks me up, so random, but such a great thing to include in there.
So mark this down on your list of possible Christmas gifts for people who love to get taken away by a great TV series where they’ll laugh, cry, and get a good surprise frequently.
Okay this one is really cool. It’s a lamp constructed of colored Tetris blocks! The blocks can be stacked any way you like, as long as they are in 90 degree variations, and if they touch each other, they light up!
ThinkGeek’s description, as you’ll see if you follow the links, voices a concern that many of you may have. What happens if you stack the blocks in a solid structure? They’ll disappear, right? Well, rest assured, they will do no vanishing, or point-giving, only lighting.
If you know somebody with OCD, this is your chance to build some lamps with gaping holes and blatantly poorly placed blocks, just to drive them mad!
As far as how it works, I have no idea. I do know that somewhere, the thing plugs in to the wall, so you won’t need batteries. I’m guessing one block has a cord attached to it, then the rest hook up magnetically or something. They are lit by LEDs, so you really won’t ever have to replace bulbs.
I was pretty curious as to how this thing looked in action, so here’s the quick little demo video of the Tetris lamp.
This is a 1/6 scale replica of the Iron Throne from the HBO series, Game of Thrones. See, the show is from the series of books, but the throne looks a bit different in its depictions…really, that doesn’t matter, the cool one is from the show. Although this is called the Iron Throne, it’s actually made of resin. It does weigh in at a stout 23 pounds.
The throne is 14 inches tall, so you can probably fit a baby on there, maybe even that royal baby that was just born over in England! That would be pretty funny to see actually. But really, I encourage you to get this, and name your next son Joffrey, or Rob, or even Eddard if it makes you happy, then place him upon his throne! Okay, that may be a bit much.
Luckily for you, there is no need to pay the iron price. Anyway, right now, you can get this piece of memorabilia for 10% off! Go check it out at ThinkGeek!

The sun’s about to go down and you should be heading back home, but you need three more birch woods to make a stack! Chopping furiously, your iron axe breaks. The only thing left to do is use your shovel or go at it kung fu style.
Punching furiously, the sun has all but a few pixels below the horizon and you can hear the spiders and zombies coming out. It’s time to make a break for it. Only a few dozen yards out you can see the square patch of torches illuminating the night, casting silhouettes of shambling creatures prowling the edges of your fence. There’s no way you can get past them without taking damage and all that tree cutting has left you hungry.
Thankfully, there’s a mine that you connected your house that’s just behind a nearby hill. Wait! What’s that? “SsSsssSsSS…” It’s too late; you don’t even bother moving. Respawn or Exit to Title Screen?

Here’s how the little guy works. You choose the length of the snooze time from 0 to 9 minutes. Clocky will let you snooze one time. The next time you hit snooze, it’s go time! Clocky will bail off of the nightstand (or any surface safely dropping up to 3 feet) onto your carpet or hard floor and look for a hiding spot, beeping all along the way. The sheer frustration is sure to wake up the snoozy sleeper.
There are plenty of other things Clocky does such as light up the display when you hit snooze when the alarm isn’t activated, warn you well in advance when the battery is low, and can even be put into stationary mode if you don’t want to chase him the next morning.
These cards are personalizable, which I don’t think is a word, but I’m going to use it anyway. Why not stock up on birthday cards anyway? See, I say that because the minimum order for these cards is 25. That may be a bit much for the casual gift-giver, but for a company with hundreds of employees, this makes it nice and easy to distribute good wishes on those many special days.
Now this is quite possibly the coolest thing I’ve ever posted about here on the good old gift idea blog that this is. Who doesn’t love magnets? I love those things! Here, you get 216 tiny spheres of magnetic fun!
These things look like so much fun. I have yet to get mine (you’d better believe I’m getting some for myself), but I can’t wait for the endless fun they’ll provide. You can magically make all kinds of well structured…structures with these little things. If you don’t believe me, or just want to get super excited about getting some of these for you and all of your friends, check out this little demonstration video:
