Update: The promotional code doesn’t work now, but the store is still selling the DVD for $20, but the Blu-Ray is now at $50. Still half price!
Whoa! This is really a great deal! If you haven’t yet purchased Planet Earth on DVD or Blu-Ray, today is the day to do it!
The deal is only for today, April 21, 2010. You can get them brand new at the Discovery Store today only for twenty bucks, or on Blu-Ray for only $25. That’s $40 off of the DVD price and $50 off of the Blu-Ray price. Nice!
This chair could be a great gift for anybody really. Who knows, Father’s Day is right around the corner. Have a look and help somebody sit down in comfort and style.
There’s still some time to get your loved one a Valentine’s Day gift! With a few days left, you can order as late as the 12th and still get your stuff.
Head over to Wrapables.com for a huge gift guide for everybody. For him, for her, for kids, for couples, and personalized gifts of all kinds!
Here is a more practical gift idea than what I usually put up here. Perhaps it’s because I’m at my desk, which happens to magically gain clutter over time. It’s crazy how it happens!
Do you know somebody like me? Maybe if I had some of these desk organizers this auto-clutter feature of my desk would turn off. Hmm, maybe I’ll get some for myself because they’re half price right now. Woo!
They are made of faux (yes, fake) leather and come in red, black, or brown. The size is 6″ x 6.25″ x 12″ so there is ample room for paper and big envelopes and what not.
Over the holiday season I had a chance to play the New Super Mario Brothers game for the Nintendo Wii. My goodness it was awesome! It looks and feels a lot like Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, 3, and Super Mario World all combined.
So what makes this one so awesome? Well, of course there is a whole new group of worlds and levels, but there are all kinds of new things as well. If you play multi-player, you get to play at the same time. When I played, it was two of us playing together. You can pick up and throw each other to help get through parts of the level. We found, however, that it was more fun to pick each other up and then proceed to throw the player into a bad guy or down a hole. Good fun!
There are new costumes for the players, and you can play as the traditional Mario and Luigi as well as a couple differently colored Toadstool characters. The fun really doesn’t end. And if you’re like me and would rather play using your thumbs than swinging the controller around, don’t worry, this is played with the classic style controller. There is a bit of shaking involved, but it isn’t extraneous.
Know somebody who has trouble waking up? Do they even constantly lose the battle with the alarm clock snooze button? Well, you can help them become more punctual in an entertaining way with Clocky!
Here’s how the little guy works. You choose the length of the snooze time from 0 to 9 minutes. Clocky will let you snooze one time. The next time you hit snooze, it’s go time! Clocky will bail off of the nightstand (or any surface safely dropping up to 3 feet) onto your carpet or hard floor and look for a hiding spot, beeping all along the way. The sheer frustration is sure to wake up the snoozy sleeper.
There are plenty of other things Clocky does such as light up the display when you hit snooze when the alarm isn’t activated, warn you well in advance when the battery is low, and can even be put into stationary mode if you don’t want to chase him the next morning.
You may have seen all the commercials. Well, it’s true, the new Playstation 3 is only $299. I still don’t have one for myself, and really need to take advantage of this price.
Of course, the games are all in the neighborhood of $60, but that’s OK because its main purpose for many is as a Blu-Ray DVD player. Hot diggity dog!
So really, there’s not much reason to not get somebody a PS3 as a gift this year, really. It plays movies in 1080p, so if you have a nice new LCD or Plasma TV, hook this puppy up and you’ll be in HD heaven. Merry HD Christmas time!
Cards are a key element of gift giving. These particular cards are designed with corporate birthdays in mind. It’s a nice design that fits any style birthday.
These cards are personalizable, which I don’t think is a word, but I’m going to use it anyway. Why not stock up on birthday cards anyway? See, I say that because the minimum order for these cards is 25. That may be a bit much for the casual gift-giver, but for a company with hundreds of employees, this makes it nice and easy to distribute good wishes on those many special days.
Now this is quite possibly the coolest thing I’ve ever posted about here on the good old gift idea blog that this is. Who doesn’t love magnets? I love those things! Here, you get 216 tiny spheres of magnetic fun!
These things look like so much fun. I have yet to get mine (you’d better believe I’m getting some for myself), but I can’t wait for the endless fun they’ll provide. You can magically make all kinds of well structured…structures with these little things. If you don’t believe me, or just want to get super excited about getting some of these for you and all of your friends, check out this little demonstration video:
It’s that time of year again. Many young and not as young students are finally to that point where they get to try and figure out what to do next in life. Sweet, sweet graduation.
