Here’s a very practical gift idea. It’s a simple little key chain sized fire starter. When you slide the key looking thing against the little stick, sparks fly out at 3,000°C which is 5432°F. Yeah, that’s pretty hot.

The crazy little thing even works when it’s wet. I’m not sure anything will light when it’s when, but this thing will keep sparking. Get this for your closest friend who wants to go out and be like Bear Grylls!

Carabiner Clip Watch

Check out these handy little watches. They have a carabiner built right into them as well as a powerful LED micro-light. Perfect for people like myself who don’t usually sport a watch on their wrist.

The little watches are water resistant up to 100 feet as well, so they make for a great hiking/camping companion. Clip them to your belt loop, back pack, or even your friend (if your friend has a weird loop thing that could handle something being clipped to it)! They’re only an inch and a half wide by three inches long, so they’ll fit anywhere.

Chicks Dig You Cereal Bowl

There’s nothing quite like a good morning affirmation. This is pretty awesome. The rim of the bowl has some good stuff, but the “Chicks dig you” in the bottom of the bowl tops them all. It reminds me of Gheorghe Muresan in his commercial for cabbage cologne: “Chicks dig it!”

So this is just a funny little gift idea to get for some guy who needs a little extra confidence boost with his bowl of fruity pebbles.

This is pretty cool. ThinkGeek has a pair of t-shirts that will light up with hearts when you are near your loved one. So here’s what you do. Get two of these shirts, one for you and one for your significant other, and then when you’re apart, you’ll each have only 2½ hearts lit up, but when you’re near each other, all 6 hearts will light up. Pretty neat huh?

See the idea is, if you haven’t got it, to make it seem as though each of the t-shirt wearers are in a video game. In games, like Zelda, you want your hearts to be full, that means you’re strong and have perfect health. When they start to diminish, things aren’t looking so hot. So when you’re with your lover, things are looking good.

Of course, there are some things to do to get it set up right, like plug in a little transmitter that detects when the other person is nearby, but it’s totally worth it! You could both wear these shirts to a Valentine’s Day party or any other social event where you want to woo people with your love for each other. Could be a good time for everybody!

Nuts, crackers, cheese, and meat. What else do you need in any gift basket? Well, how about a stainless steel cleaver? Now it’s a perfect Valentine’s Day gift!

This is the first gift basket I’ve seen that includes any type of cutting utensil, and they don’t mess around, they include a nice meat cleaver, which is awesome. It’s pretty inexpensive too, so there really isn’t any reason why everybody shouldn’t have their own meat cleaver and heart shaped block of cheddar cheese. The other things in there are whole cashews, garlic herb crackers, and beef sausage. Good stuff.

Surabaya Silk Bow Tie

How about a little men’s fashion for the new year? Whenever I see a guy wearing a bow tie, I gain immediate respect for him. It’s something that says he doesn’t care about the latest fashion. He’s going to do things his own way and still make it look good.

I have no idea how to tie a bow tie, but this site, Beau Ties Limited, has a DVD for sale that will instruct anybody on how to tie a bow tie. I think the video also includes instruction on tying neck ties, like the windsor and double windsor knot, which I prefer.

So yeah, if you know a man who wouldn’t be afraid of wearing a styling bow tie, check this out.
